Pictures of 'Junkyard Wars' in Boston (19 pictures)

On Memorial day weekend (May 23rd-25th, 2003), the TLC (The Learning Channel) TV show Junkyard Wars came to the South Shore mall near Boston, and I went down to take some pictures. They had build it yourself cars that raced down a gravity track that was geared towards creating the next generation of future science nerds. There were multiple races during the day.

All of the pictures were taken in available light, which in some cases meant too slow of a shutter speed, however I thought the flash might be obnoxious.

Jeff from The Nerds team that was in the 2000 season of Scrapheap Challenge (the UK version of the show, which is the original version) was on hand to discuss things with people that wanted to chat and to bless the winners with a piece of junk salvaged from one of the machines they built.

Sunset pictures (5 pictures)

My wife had paid for me to take a nature photography course at a local community college, and I went there with anticipation. However, there weren't enough people in the course, and they canceled it, but I didn't get the message until going to the college. Since it had been raining off and on, on the way back, I saw the makings of a great sunset, and stopped at a rest area to take the pictures. I had to shoot over a 6 foot fence in order to get the shot. Most of these sunsets are somewhat underexposed to bring out the colors and the clouds.
