In terms of time line, the volcanos had been erupting the day before, and they would erupt a few days later. During our trip, they were dormant.
Unfortunately, towards the end of the trip, I was getting back into the tour bus, and I slipped off the stairs to the bus. I fell backwards, cracking two vertebrae, and bleeding from my head. I went to the emergency room in Hilo, Hawaii. We then had to take a 2 hour Uber ride to get back to the condo we were renting in the Kona area. I was in great pain, but now 2 weeks later, I'm starting to feel better.
