4th generation steampunk camera

In the 4th generation, I decided to go to a larger size (9x9x4.5”) to give more room for the shutter release cable, and to allow the pop-up flash or flash cable to fit within the box without having an opening in the top.
I've thought about having a diffused screen for the pop-up flash to fire through but so far I haven't done so. I've also thought about using my flash in remote mode but again I haven't used it yet.
I have used the flash attached to a flash cable, but recently I broke the cable, and went back to having a hole cut in the top for the flash to fit through.
